CCA Programs

1. Qualified Coaching & Safety-First Approach

Experienced, certified coaches with Singapore Gymnastics qualifications who prioritize proper technique and injury prevention.

Essential elements include:

  • Spotting techniques

  • Use of mats and safety equipment

  • Warm-up/cool-down routines

  • Clear rules and progressions

2. Structured Skill Development & Progression

Progressive learning across gymnastics apparatus and fundamental movements. Programs typically cover:

  • Floor — rolls, cartwheels, handstands, tumbling passes, dance elements

  • Vault — run-ups, take-offs, basic vaults

  • Beam — balance, jumps, turns, dismounts

  • Bars — swings, casts, circles

  • Fundamental body positions & conditioning (push-ups, core work, flexibility)

  • Additional activities on boy specific apparatus is typically added at 7-10 years old

Sessions usually follow this flow: warm-up → skill stations → apparatus rotations → cool-down.

3. Conditioning & Physical Preparation

Dedicated time for building the physical attributes needed for gymnastics:

  • Strength (core, upper body, legs)

  • Flexibility & mobility

  • Cardiovascular endurance

  • Body awareness & coordination

Coaching Ratio

Classes are typically help for 1 hour and there is 1 coach for up to 10 students maximum.  This ratio allows coaches to properly guide each of the gymnasts and monitor their progression.  If there are children of wide age range or ability SWAGA recommends having a coach per level.

All SWAGA coaches have a minimum of Singapore Gymnastics Intermediate coaching certificate, and most have NROC which is full national certification available in Singapore.  We do have load and head coaches with FIG level certifications which is the highest levels of certification available.
